Hackensack conference explores NJ’s sharp rise in cases of pancreatic cancer

Despite the progress in preventing and treating most forms of cancer, one of its most lethal types — cancer of the pancreas — has shown a sharp uptick in New Jersey. When one of Hackensack University Medical Center’s longtime popular internists died of the disease last year, his doctor decided to dedicate a community education program to his memory.
